I can’t get enough of food content and feel the urgency like most people to support the food industry once the lockdown is able to safely ease up more fully. I love reading their stories of family, and learning about how their recipes are so deeply sewn to the fabric of past generations. Since receiving Luiz Hara’s The Japanese Larder at Christmas, I’ve been able to easily combine Japanese flavours into my daily meals, such as brown butter with miso linguine and even mochi pizza! Following the Corden Bleu chef’s travels, his grid bursts with flavour from around the world. I can’t wait to try one of his supper clubs.

Mae is a Filipina home cook, showcasing the best of Filipino traditional recipes together with modern takes on various dishes. Mae is a burst of sunshine and I love the upbeat vibes that come through on her account. Mae also has a YouTube channel where you can follow along to recreate her dishes at home.

Thuy Diem Pham’s story of leaving Vietnam against a background of war and struggle is something that resonates with my own family’s story of displacement. As such, it’s a joy to see how Thuy has thrived in bringing the vibrant flavours of her home country to the UK, including a restaurant and a book, winning multiple awards along the way.
